Treasurer

I was a founder Committee Member of the Notts/Lincs Branch of the NCPA.   As an Accounts Manager, my first year with the Branch was as their Treasurer.   After a year as Secretary, I  was then made up to Chairperson for a further six years; thereby moving up in the ranks!

I was a founder Committee Member of the Leicestershire & Rutland Branch of the NCPA and  Light Horse Secretary for the Moorgreen Country Show for four years.   Other roles I’ve held included being the Light Horse Secretary for the Flintham Ploughing Match for several years, a Committee Member of the South Notts Supporter’s Club, and a Member of the NCPA Main Branch Show Committee; my main task being Steward Co-ordinator for the Open Show and the Pony of the Year Show.

I have been involved with NPS Area XI for many years, firstly stewarding at the Area shows, then in more recent years I’ve been on the committee and treasurer, then held that role  alongside that of Chairman including jointly with Rodger James before returning to concentrate on my treasury and sponsorship role.

Although I’d had several horses over the years, and bred Hanoverian/TB horses, I had never shown myself until recently.   My last horse, Teversham Prospect, was evented by a local Event Rider, and latterly did very well on the show jumping circuit.   A few years ago, I was tempted into buying a British Riding Pony foal, Menedh Titania aka Tilly, who was successfully shown in hand, including winning a coveted WPCS Silver Medal. Tilly has now been backed and is ready to start her ridden career.

During the showing seasons, I used to often be seen stewarding at shows; a task I undertook with great pleasure.
