My passion for the M&M native breeds started young and as a child. I enjoyed competing locally with my Connemara along with a variety of riding activities growing up but was always drawn to showing and wanted to pursue it further. Having modest resources and no transport, my absolute highlight was summers hitching a lift to local Hatton or Lapworth shows!
When I went to university, I had a 15-year hiatus away from ponies followed whilst I completed my PhD in Immunology and established a career as a scientist. In 2020, I made a return to equestrian life and purchased a Shetland for my then 2yr old daughter Morgan. With support from my husband Pete, we have thrown ourselves into home-producing small natives and not looked back. Showcasing lead rein Shetlands has been our forte over the last few seasons, with highlights being placing at the RIHS and taking the NPS/The Kings Head Novice Lead Rein Final at the NPS Summer Championship Show in 2023. I feel so privileged that my children are growing up in the showing community and enjoy so many wonderful experiences. I am a new member of the Area XI committee and member of the Dartmoor Pony Society.
