Area XI Young Judges 2024 Achievements

Our 2024 Young Judges met with great success in the 2024 Jennie Seymour Young Judges Competition.

We had great interest from within the membership, enabling us to enter the maximum number permitted. We were represented by Evie Walker in the M&M 10-13 year old category, Katie Adams, Amelia Hadley, Olivia Khol, Amy Pinfield and Lilly Walker in the M&M 14-18 year old category, Emily Rose (Rosebud) Fletcher and Chloe Heathcote in the RP/HP 14-18 year old section.

As you know, Area XI covers such a huge geographic area and this meant face to face preparations were limited, but we made the most of technology with regular use of zoom.

New member to the Team, Katie Adams bedded in well and achieved good results, Chloe Heathcote rejoined the Team this year and excelled in the 2024 Young Judges Competition as did all our Area XI Team.

They all did the Area proud winning and being highly placed in both the Young Judges and Education Competitions. Our M&M Team of Amelia Hadley, Olivia Khol, Evie Walker and Lilly Walker won the 2024 Team competition.

Key placings were; Amy Pinfield taking the M&M 14-18 title for the second year in succession, Evie Walker taking the education phase in the 10-13 age group and Chloe Heathcote taking the RP/HP 14-18 year old section, being overall RP/HP winner, and she crowned this by taking the overall Young Judge of 2024 and accompanying Tom Barron when he judged the NPS 2024 Summer Championship Show Horse of the Year Show Price Family qualifier. Chloe also won the 14-18 year old section of the education quiz, a super achievement and Chloe is the first to win both elements.

Our full results in the Young Judges competition were: first in two sections, second in one section, third in two sections, fourth 4th in two sections and 5th in one section, which was excellent with the limited preparations we had again this year.

The Area also excelled in the education phase of the competition, which is split into three age groups 10-13, 14-18 and 19-25; of the eight forward our Young Judges took two firsts, a second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth. A fantastic result for our eight Young Judges over both disciplines and so pleasing to know our junior members have knowledge about a broad range of topics relating to their ponies.
